housands have enthusiastically received keyboardist James J. Myers at prestigious venues throughout Europe and North America. His stylistic breadth and sensitivity, technical prowess, and musical artistry have reached audiences from Berlin to New York, Los Angeles to London, as well as Honolulu, Copenhagen, Geneva, and Budapest. He has shared the stage with leading artistic luminaries of our age, including Christine Brewer, Judith Christin, Jennifer Koh, Robert McDuffie, Chris Thile, and Renée Fleming. His music has artfully supported master classes of singers Thomas Hampson, Sylvia McNair, and Linda Watson, composers Tom Cipullo and Jake Heggie, and pianists John Perry, Ann Schein, and Abby Simon.

In professional houses Mr. Myers has prepared a tremendous range of repertoire, including L’incoronazione di Poppea, Don Giovanni, Rigoletto, Elektra, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Der Fliegende Holländer. In 2008 he was featured on the Kurzweil double synthesizer with Opera Colorado’s Naxos recording of Nixon in China, under Marin Alsop. In operatic, symphonic, and choral engagements he has had the distinct pleasure of working with renowned conductors David Angus, Edward Gardner, Matthew Halls, Bernard Labadie, Peter Oundjian, and the late Marvin Hamlisch.

Mr. Myers leads a dynamic vocal coaching studio in Boston, and is Coach/Pianist and Lecturer with Boston Lyric Opera and the Boston Conservatory. He has served as adjudicator, presenter, composer, and pianist at National Association of Teachers of Singing, Classical Singer, and numerous vocal and Early Music festivals in addition to collaborative master classes at academic centers throughout the United States.
